At the conference of the Music Teachers' Association in Wellington an encouraging letter was read from Sir Hugh Roberton, conductor of the famous Glasgow Orpheus Choir, in answer to a suggestion from the association that he should visit New Zealand with his choir. Sir Hugh stated that neither he nor any member of his choir would expect any sort of remuneration. They would only expect to cover expenses, regarding the visit as a friendly gesture from the Mother Country to the Dominion. The conference gave unanimous support to the proposal, and every effort ,1s to be made to bring it into effeci.i
