Protest was made at the annual meeting of the Royal Wellington Choral Union this week against the union having to pay amusement tax. The Choral Union, it was stated, was of educative value and was not out to make money, although it naturally aimed at paying its way. If it was of any educative value, it should be helped by the Government and not hindered.
