Brilliant Boy Cornetists to Visit Christchureh One of the outstanding events of the National Band Contest held at Timaru last week was the remarkable playing of Masters Roy Mathieson and Tom,Osborne, Timaru boys. Not only did Roy Mathieson win the Boys' Championship, being equal with Tom Osborne, but he was also runner-up in the Men's Championship—a really remarkable performance. Next Tuesday afternoon Roy Mathieson will play at the Mannequin parade arranged at Hay's Limited, details of which are advertised elsewhere in this issue of "The Press." At Thursday's Mannequin Parade <> Master Tom' Osborne will play. Both boys have been trained by Lieutenant W. H. Osborne, M.8.E., repeatedly Champion Cornet player of New Zealand. On Thursday Master Osborne will play the Championship solo and in addition will take part in a duet along with his father.
