After a race meeting of any description competitors always wa'nt to know what speed their models recorded, and this list gives the times and speeds of competitors at Leithfield beach, over the mile course:— Fastest

The first dance of the season will be held in the Railway Hall, Carlyle street, on Tuesday fortnight. This will be the opening carnival dance. On Tuesday next (March 5) the club will hold another theatre evening at St. James' Theatre. Tickets are available from Mr C. A. C. Frost, Moorhouse avenue. Mr Morris, our able sports selector, has thought out a number of novelty events, which will be seen for the first lime at the Springston Domain tomorrow. A speed-estimating contest will be held on the run to the domain. Members are asked to be at the depot at 9.30 sharp to obtain the conditions of the contest. Points will be given for the Herb Moore, Vimiera, and

Clark Memorial private cups. The girls will compete for the Pamela trophy, which will be decided in June. Members will be pleased to hear that Willy Rosengrave is progressing favourably. PIONEER MOTOR CLUB FIXTURES March o—Grass track meeting, New Brighton; Beach meeting, middleweight championship. April 6—Major Reliability Trial. April 28—Championship T.T. Meeting, Harewood. May 25—Speed Trials. Notes The grass track meeting to be held on Saturday, March 9, is the next event on the Pioneer Club's programme, and the entries suggest that the competition will be very keen. The two light car races which are to be held in conjunction with the motorcycle events 'should interest all light car and prospective light car owners. All members are reminded that admission to the track meeting is obtained by presentation of their membership tickets. Unless these are presented it will be necessary to pay.
