Mr Pascoe is at present in London gaining experience in his profession. Dr. Charles Gill Morgan, chief geologist and geophysicist with the Byrd Antarctic Expedition, is at present on a visit to the Mount Cook areas in company with Dr. E. Marsden, head of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for geophysical survey work. Next month Dr. Morgan hopes to be in Christchurch, visiting relatives here, the Rev. H. L. and Mrs Blamires, of Merivale. Members of the re.iding room and the mechanical staff of "The Press" assembled last evening to say goodbye to Mr J. S. H. Perkins, who has relinquished his position in the reading room to go to College House to study for the English Church ministry. Mr R. E. Gillespie, chief reader, presented Mr Perkins with a fountain pen, and assured him of the good wishes of his friends of "The Press" staff. Mr 0. G. Walker, adding his good wishes, spoke of Mr Perkins's sportsmanlike qualities.
