PERSONAL Mr L. R. Leeder lias joined the Waikouaiti. Mr Leeder will relieve Mr C. G. Hill for further orders. Mr C. R. Carlyon, who has been on holidays, has rejoined the Rangatira as third officer, replacing Mr H. M. Hughes, who is at Lyttelton on leave. Captain A. Reed, of the Waikawa, and his officers, Mr H. A. Brockett, Mr 1 R. Tulloch, and Mr D. C. Champion, are now on holidays in New Zealand. Mr J. Dawson, lately chief officer on the Karepo, is now awaiting orders at Newcastle. Mr A. Mac Donald has joined the Kartigi as chief engineer. Mr D. H. McDonald has also joined the Kartigi. in the capacity of third engineer. He relieves Mr A. Fell for holidays. Mr J. J. Matthews, the second engineer of the Kini, is at present ashore on sick leave. Captain J. G. Watson, who has been in command of the Waikouaiti for the last five years, is to be relieved by Captain Grey, when the vessel reaches Wellington. On Tuesday Captain Watson was the recipient of a case of pipes, the gift of the officers of the Waikouaiti, the presentation being made by the chief officer, Mr N. J. Sicpens. Yesterday Captain Wat- • son was presented by the chief steward, Mr A. Garland, on behalf of the providore department, with a tobacco pouch. SOMERSET LEAVES PANAMA The Somerset, coming to New Zealand in ballast, left Panama last Thursday. She is due in these waters to commence loading about March 18. KENT AT LONDON The Kent, which left Auckland on January 8 for London and West Coast ports, arrived at London on Monday morning. PORT AUCKLAND REPORTS The Port Auckland has reported that she will arrive at Auckland at 11 a.m. to-morrow from New York. She is due at Wellington next Monday. TUSCAN STAR'S PORTS The Blue Star Line's motor-ship Tuscan Star, which sailed from London in ballast on January 24, is due at Gisbox'ne to-day to commence loading. She will leave there on March 2 for Napier, and will load at Wellington on March 6 and 7. The Tuscan Star will afterwards complete at Lyttelton and Auckland, sailing from Auckland for London on March 16.
