THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL
♦ CIVIC FAREWELL AT DUNEDIN (FRES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, February 26. The Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe were accorded a civic farewell in the Town Hall this evening. An attendance of nearly 3000 gave their Excellencies a rousing reception. The Governor-General was presented with a valedictory address by the Mayor, the Rev. E. T. Cox, who spoke of the distinguished services of Lord Bledisloe to the Dominion. The Governor-General expressed appreciation of the warmth of the reception, and his regret at leaving the Dominion. At an earlier ceremony Lord Bledisloe was presented with an address by the Rev. J. H. Haslam, president of the Methodist Conference now sitting in Dunedin, on behalf of the Methodist Church of New Zealand.
