«... ■— ENROLMENT OP STUDENTS Students are once again thronging the precincts of Canterbury College, and a large number of freshmen are enrolling before the commencement of lectures on Thursday. It is expected that the college will have settled down to its usual routine of academic, social, and sporting activity by the beginning of next week. The following are to be deans of faculties for this year:— Arts—Professor Pocock. Science—Professor Pcrcival. Engineering—Professor Steele. Commerce —Professor Tocker. Music —Dr. Bradshaw. Law—Mr A. S. Taylor. MEETING OF GRADUATES' ASSOCIATION A meeting of the committee of the Canterbury University College Graduates' Association was held recently, the president, Mr A. E. Flower, being in the chair.
The secretary, Mr J. G. D. Ward, wrote tendering his resignation owing to his departure for England. Mr Ward's resignation was accepted with regret, and the committee placed on record its appreciation of his services as honorary secretary since May last. Mr R. Hepburn was elected secretary for the remainder of the year. Mr J. H. Poison was elected to fill a vacancy on the committee, and was appointed to act as assistant-secretary. Mr J. H. E. Schroder was elected as the representative of the association on the Canterbury College Library Building Standing Committee. Members of the committee expressed satisfaction with the success of the luncheon to Dr. Condcliffe and Mr Bennett, held in December last. It was agreed that further luncheons be held in honour of distinguished visiting graduates when the opportunity occurred. Several new members were elected. Tho treasurer (Mr R. N. C. Hill) reported on the finances of the association.
