Tile opening session oC the biennial conference of the British Medical Association was held to-night, when the presidential address was delivered by Dr. D. W. Carmalt Jones, professor of systematic medicine at the University of Otago. He took as his subject "Medical Education." Dr. Carmalt Jones Wcfs thanked for his address. On behalf of the Otago division he welcomed the visiting doctors. Dr. Bernard Myers, of London, conveyed greetings from the British Medical Association, and expressed the hope that the conference would be a great success-, and that the branch would continue to expand.
