NGAHAU FOR AUCKLAND
The auxiliary scow Ngahau, which arrived at Lyttelton on Monday afternoon from Kaiapoi, is to leave Lyttelton to-day for Auckland. MAHENO DUE TO-MORROW The Union Steam Ship Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Maheno is to arrive here to-morrow from Melbourne,' via Bluff and Dunedin. She is to sail in the afternoon, on tiie arrival of the 3.55 p.m. train from Christehurch, for Wellington, Bluff, and Melbourne. TO LOAD FOR AUCKLAND The Waikouaiti, now discharging coal and general cargo from Newcastle and Sydney at Lyttelton, is now to load wheat here for Auckland and general cargo for Sydney. She is to sail about Friday. PERSONAL Captain B. J. O'Donnell, late of the Taupata, has taken command of the Kaitoa, relieving Captain J. Hughan. Captain W. MacMillan, late of the Totara, is now master of the Taupata. Mr C. Graham has relieved Mr R. Campbell as third engineer of the Gale. Mr G. H. Edwards has replaced Mr J. Leeder as third mate of the Wahine. Mr Inkster has been relieved as mate of the Matangi by Mr J. A. Hughan. SERVICE TO TONGA It is reported that the Union Company has arranged a part-time charter of the Watchlin Line motor-vessel Port Whangarei, to run a four-weekly cargo service to Nukualofa. The vessel will leave Auckland on her first trip on March 1, arriving at Nukualofa on March C. She will leave that port the following day, and will return to Auckland on March 12. Thereafter her sailing dates from Auckland will be March 29, April 26, and May 24.
