ACCIDENTS
KNOCKED FROM BICYCLE Frederick A. Schulz, a middle-aged man, of 113 Opawa road, was knocked from his bicycle by a motor-lorry in Ferrv road, near the Radley bridge, late "last evening. A St. John Ambulance was called, and Schulz was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where he was found to be suffering from a deep wound in his skull, and concussion and shock. He was admitted shortly after 11 p.m. STRUCK BY LIGHTNING II'BESS ASSOCIATION TEI.EOIIAM.I WHANGAREI, February 26. During an electrical storm yesterday, James Peat, of Kauri, was thrown to the ground as he was walking in a paddock. "Suddenly something seemed to explode in my face, everything went black, ar)d I fell like a ninepin," he said. After lying unconscious for some time, he had managed to reach home. About the same hour a taxi-cab was struck by lightning, and its engine stopped.
