CHANGE IN WEATHER

RAIN IN MANY DISTRICTS After a fine day on Saturday, Christchurch experienced a change in the weather yesterday. Rain set in about 11.30 a.m. and continued fairly steaa.ly until about 3.30, when the sky showed signs of clearing. About 9 p.m., however, a drizzle began, and shortly afterwards a strong south-west wind blew up, bringing with it heavy rain. The condition, in Christchurch were general over South and MidCanterbury yesterday, but in districts towards the northern boundary, the weather was beautifully fine. The rain seemed to be at its heaviest about Ashburton, where 32 points were recorded up to 6 o'clock last evening. The break in th.2 weather will delay harvesting again, but it is not anticipated that cut crops will suffer any damage.
