NEW BRIGHTON CLUB The New Brighton Amateur Cycling Club held a road race from the Bower Hotel, New Brighton, to Kaiapoi and back on Saturday afternoon. There were 23 starters. A. Sams (scr) iecrnred first place and fastest time, covering the course in lhr 4min 55*ee. K. Annat (lmin) made the 'astest time unplaced, lhr 4min 59 S-ssec. The officials were: Starter, Mr A. J. Crew; judge, Mr W. J. Palmer; handicarper. Mr T. Willan. The finish was rery close. 14 riders crossing the line rractically together. When -00 yards from the finish A.
