RUSSIAN TIMBER.
LARGE SUPPLY FOR BRITAIN. (UNITED PBESB ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTRIC telegraph—COPYßlGHT.) MOSCOW i March 16. A contract has been signed to supply Great Britain with 2,100,000 cubic metres of timber in 1932. The Tass Agency says British importers have organised a special-company of Timber Distributors, Limited, which includes 160 firms. Shares are being distributed among the importing hrms throughout Great Britain; LONDON COMMENT. DISAGREEABLE IMPRESSION CREATED. (Received March 18th, 1.20 a.m.) LONDON, March 17. "The Times," in an editorial, says: The "timber deal produces a disagreeable impression. Tlio exploitation of convicts and political prisoners whereunder Russian timber is cut and transnorted causes a widespread impression that it should be completely prohibited.
