BROADCASTING SPEECHES. ARRANGEMENTS FOR WORLD RECEPTION. (UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TJSLJS GRAPH— COPYRIOIIT.) (Received March 16th, 8.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, March. 16. The speeches and official commentary on the opening of the Harbour Bridge on Saturday from 9.30 a.m. will be broadcasted throughout the world by Amalgamated Wireless through VK2ME on a wave-length of 31.28 metres suitable to reception by Great Britain, Europe, America,' the Far East, New Zealand, and the outlying parts of Australia.
LOSS OF COASTAL STEAMER. OFFICER EXONERATED. (Received March 16th, 8.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 16. At the Marine Court enquiry into the loss of the steamer Northern Firth at Brush Island, South Coast, on February 21st, the Court found that the vessel struck a submerged obstruction not shown on tha Admiralty chart. Therefore the Court recommended a further examination of the locality. The second mate, who was oil watch at the time tho vessel stranded, was exonerated from blame.
