PROMINENT NAPIER BOWLER. REMOVAL TO CHRISTCHURCH. Mr-A. K. Houston, one of the most active and enthusiastic members of the Wairere Bowling Club, who is leaving Napier to take up a position with the D.I.C. in Christchuri^ 3 , was entertained at a farewell gathering by the other members on Saturday afternoon. Mr Rowe, president of the club, spoke in eulogistic terms of Air Houston and especi nlly of his k/<e» interest in bowling, having been president last year, an active committeeman for a number of years, and oue oi the club's representatives on the Last Coast Bowling Centre. A representative rink from each of the local clubs was also present, and complimentary remarks were made of Mr Houston's sterling characteristics by Mr A, ririu (Napier Club), Mr C. Plested (Port Club), Mr V. W. Tnggs (Bluff Hill Club), mid Mr J. Williamson . (Omarnnui Club). On behalf of his fellow club-mates, Mr Kowe presented a pipe and tobacco pouch to Mr Houston, and also wished him success ana happiness for the future.
