Reference to a recent attempt to blow tlie safe in the borough office was. made in a case to-day in which Charles Barclay Dewar, aged 57, pleaded riot g,uilty to a breach of his license. The police stated that Dewar was released from gaol on January 14th. Hie had. admitted that: he and his brother had explosive which was concealed at Frankton. After the attempt, on the offices accused's brother found that the explosive had ' disappeared. No explanation was given. The police submitted that accused' was a convicted safe-blower in unlawful. possession of explosive In sentencing Dewar to two months' gaol,. Mr SVyvern,- Wils.on,. S.M., said
