ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.

COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the general committee of the Canterbury and West Coast Centre of the St John Ambulance' Association was held last evening. Present:—Dr. J. Restell Thomas (chairman), Mr A. Bishop, bis Lordship" Bishop Brodie, the Kev. P. Knight, ©olonel I<\ W. W. Dawson, Lieutenant Colonel F. B. Creswell, Dr. F. J. Borrie, Messrs J. W. Crampton, G. Peek, J. Wallace, E. Marriner, J. Dawson, F. Rudd, A MacGillivray, C. Buchanan, and C. J. Treleaven (secretary). Mr Crampton reported on behalf ot a sub-comftiittee that they had waited on the secretary ol ; the Canterbury Automobile Association with a scheme for supplying members of the Association with first-aid outfits pn payment of a small fee. No decision had yet been reached in the matter. It was resolved to leave further negotiations in the hands of Mr Crampton and the secretary.

The financial statement for the month, which showed a credit balance at the bank on March 15th of £l3O l"s 6d. was received The report of ambulance transport calls during the past month stated that 184 calls had been answerfed, at a cost of £73 8s 9d. Against this amount, £4 lis was received in _ donations. In the corresponding period last year, there were 98 calls. The report was received.
