HOCKEY.

SYDENHAM CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. Eighty players and officials attended the thirty-fifth annual meeting of the Sydenham Hockey Club, which was held on Monday evening, Mr H. Throp presiding. The annual report and balance-sheet Bhowed that the elub had had a very successful season. The junior A team had won the five-a-Bide and the junior B and fifth grade teams had reached the finals. Owing to the club s policy of establishing » trust fund for the purpose of assisting tin- lower grade players with their sticks and jerseys, the finnnces of the club were in ft sound condition, there being a surplus of £4B 15s in the trust fund. The total assets were shown ub £65 5s 4d. Fifteen new members were elected and nine resignations received. In moving the adoption of the report and statement of accounts, the chairman Baid that he wished to express his satisfaction at the large attendance. The club had done well in the past year and much of its success was due to tho work of the lion, secretary and treasurer and tho committee. Trophies were presented as follows:—Junior A grade A team, R. Rusbridge; junior A grade B N team, W. Burke; junior B grade, K. Dash; third grade, J. Lanyon; fourth grade A team, 0. Clarkson; fourth grade B team, S. P. Perry; fifth grade A team, H. Bhind; fifth grade B team, K. O'Loughlin. The date of the opening day was left to the committee. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr W. E. Munday; president, Mr H. Throp; vice-presidents, Mr R. Turner was elected in addition to those elected the previous season; club captain, Mr E. Dash; deputy club captain, Mr E. Cummins; hon. secretary, Mr I. Davey; hon. treasurer, Mr H. Snook; delegates to Canterbury Hockey Association, Messrs W. .Skelton, S. Bus-

bridge, P. Berry, A. Johnston, G. Grahapt, 3. Fahey, A. Smith, and G. Robertson; senior selector, Mr P. Berry; junior grade, Mr W. Skelton■ third grade, Hr A. Smith; fourth grade, Messrs E. Cummins and J. Fahey; fifth grade, Messrs H. Snook and E. Dash. Mr A. Mather was unanimously elected a life-member of the club. A motion of condolence "with the relatives of Mr 11. Firman, who was one of the founders of the club, was. carried. TECHNICAL COLLEGE OLD BOYS' CLUB. At tho annual meeting of tie Technical College Old Boys' Hockey Club the president, Mr H. A. Locke, presided over a good attendance of members. The annual roport showed the club to be in a sound position, the gicmbership being over one hundred, whilst the balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £2O. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Dr. D. E. Hansen; president, Mr H. A. Locke; vice-presidents, Messrs A. C. Barnes, C. Smith, C. Bellamy, E. A. Harvey, J. Kitchen, W. Turner, H. Teaguo, and L. Smith; club captain, Mr E. Ballinger; lion, secretary, Mr J. E. Hill; hon. treasurer, Mr J. Sloan; delegates fro Canterbury Hockey Association, Messrs R. Wear, R. Mcynell, and E. Harvey; delegate to Sports Protection Association,. Mr W. J. Hcaton; delegate to Technical College Past and Senior Students' Association, Mr R. Day; hon. auditor, Mr E. 'W. Smith; committer, Messrs Cole, R. Meynell, H. Pickup, M. Lohrey, and J. Dick; selectors, Messrs H. A. Locke and A. C. Barnes. It was decided to send a team to Dunedin at Easter for the annual match against tho Dunedin Technical Old Boys' dub. Opening day was fixed for Saturday, April 2nd, at Ensor's road.
