IMPERIAL CONFERENCE
SUGGESTION TO GOVERNMENT. (tSESS ASSOCIATION TELEOEAIJ.) DANNEVIRKE, March. 11. The suggestion was mad© at a large meeting representative of farming and commercial interests from Pahiatua to Dannevirko, that Sir JamesPnrr should be recommended to the Government as one of the Dominion delegates for the Ottawa conference. Sir James, who had just previously given an impressive address on Empire trade, said that the suggestion was a surprise to him. He had not thought of asking, or seeking, appointment as a delegate, but was quite willing to assist in the preparatory work. The personnel of Uie delegation was purely a matter for the Government to decide. The meeting decided unanimously to recommend his appointment to the Government,
