MR DE VALERA'S PLANS.
INTEREST IN ENGLAND. COMMENT BY " THE TIMES." (rSITED I'ItESS ASSOCIATION —BX ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received March 12th, 12.35 a.m.) LONDON, March 11th. ".The Times" in an editorial says: "Mr de Valera's Ministry is an untried body, and Englishmen will watch future proceedings, with detached interest rather than with the anxiety which seems to be felt in some quarters in Ireland. They will hope for continuity and commonsense. , "It might not be au altogether onesided disadvantage to this country if Mr de Valera should after all decide to pursue in office a policy of whittling away the Irish settlement, ending with the. repudiation of Irish obligations which lie sometimes threatened when in opposition. The situation would at least be clear, and the negotiations for leciprocal trade now rapidly taking p<ace would be simplified if they were limited to those parts of the Empire V'hich are really anxious for consolidation."
