TRANS-TASMAN PLIGHT.
[MOTION PICTURE ENTERPRISE. ! [THE PRESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, March 10. A trans-Tasman flight with Auckland as the objective may bo undertaken after the official opening of the Sydney harbour bridge on Saturday, March 19th, with the primary aim of delivering motion picture films of tho ceremony for exhibition in New Zealand cities on the Monday afternoon. . Squadron Leader Kingsford-Smith, who crossed the Tasman to Christchurch in the monoplane Southern Cross in 1928, may again be the pilot. Tho project has advanced so far that negotiations have been opened with picture theatres in New Zealand in anticipation of film delivery by air. The representative of Greater Australasian Films, Ltd., in Wellington, refused to discuss the project this evening, as he was still in communication with Sydney by cablegram. The plan is to use one of the sister machines to tho Southern Cross, a tri-motor monoplane with radio equipment. These machines were operated for some time by Kingsford-Smith on the Sydney-Brisbane and Sydney-Mel-bourne routes. Should the arrangements be completed the machine will leave Sydney early on Saturday evening, March 19th, with the intention of landing at Auckland on Sunday morning.
