FIRE AT SOUTH BRIGHTON.

HOUSE GUTTEI). At about 2 p.m. yesterday the New ' Brighton Fire Brigade received a call from South Brighton, the fire being on the premises at 17 Fisher street, owned and occupied by Mr J. M. Bennett. The property is a modern single-storey bungalow, of four rooms. Dense volumes of smoke were proceeding from the building, but on breaking'in the brigade effected a quick save; using the first aid outfit, and feeding the engine by a bucket brigade from the tank on the property. The fire originated in a cupboard in the kitchen. The walls between the hall and two rooms were destroyed, and some damage was done to* the furniture, which is insured with tho Alliance Insurance Company for £150; The property is covered for £BOO in the State Fire Office.
