The claim was first heard on Wednesday, March 2nd, Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., presiding, and with him wero Messrs R. A. Campbell and H. St. A. Murray, as assessors. The claimant's counsel alleged that the excavations for the foundations of the . sub-station had undermined tho foundations of Jack's house, and experts called in evidence stated that the wall of Jack's house had subsided, while the floor had sunk. There were large cracks in the house. The Court then adjourned in order to permit the Magistrate and the assessors to inspect the house.
