The barometer was steady at 30.05. Wellinston —Yesterday was fine, with sunshine and passing clouds. A light cool wind blew from the south. The barometer was high find steadv, the reading last evening being 30.40. Forecast. General Situation—The cyclone has no'.v moved east of the Chatham Islands, and the wcathor is controlled by the anti-cyclone centred over eouthem New Zealand. A fresh depression is centred near Tasmania. Winds—Moderate to strong southerly winds, decreasing and later backing to east and north.
Seas (New Zealand waters) —Still considerable swell on the East Coast north o£ -h-ai-koura, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea— Freshening east to north winds; ecas smooth to moderate, out increasing.
