WINTER IN EUROPE.
DANUBIAN TOWN ISOLATED. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BT EUtCTBIO TELEGB APH— CO FV3IGHT.) LONDON, March 8. In contrast to the mildness of the weather in Great Britain, Southern Europe is experiencing an exceptionally severe winter. Bucharest reports that the town or Sulina, on' the great delta of the Danube, is isolated, and the Mayor is pathetically appealing for sucoour. \ The telephone is the only means of communication. The town was frozen in a fortnight ago. There are no mails or newspapers, and' it is now almost without food, the relief -ships being instantly gripped in the ice. There are ■ grave fears that a catastrophic flood will follow the thaw which has begun in the upper Danube.
