Andre Tardieu's proposal urging cooperation in the central and southeastern European countries to enable financial and eoonomic reconstruction The reply draws attention to Italy s recent trade agreements with Austria and Hungary, which, if successful, will bo an important step to. general reconstruction in the Balkans, in whic Italy is especially interested. It suggests, in connexion with the proposal, that Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Rumania, and Jugoslavia should mutually consult regarding preferential measures. It would be preferable if views were exchanged also by France, Germany, Italy, and Great Britain, enabling their participation.
