—: ♦ MEETING OP COMMITTEE. Ihe monthly committee meeting ot the library was held in the library rooms. Present:—Mr A. A. Britton (in the chair), Mesdames Armstrong and Goodwin, Messrs S. C. Jones, A Price, A Howe]], D. McKenzie, It. B. Woodward, F. Topliam, C. Coppiestone, A. Cameron, and A. Stothers, hon. secretary. Correspondence from the City Council in the matter of insurance was received. A letter from Mr H. T. Armstrong. M.r accepting the position of patron to the library, and enclosing a cheque re ceived with ' acclamation. Ine Book Buying Committee reported having purchased two hundred and eleven fresh books for lending purposes. The treasurer. Mr S. C. Jones, reported on the revenue account, which proved most satisfactory. Mr R. B. Woodward moved, and i>Ar J ones seconded, that the annual subscription be 6s 6d per year Jis fc>d per half-year, and 2s per quarter. — Carried
Mr D Mckenzie moved, and Mr A. Howell seconded that upon a subscriber paying an extra half subscription lor any period he be entitled to if onc e . x tra book.—Carried. It was decided to place further magazines in the library for reading and lending purposes. chairman complimented Messrs I). McKenzie and A. Price on the improvements in the library. A report of a visit to the Addington Library's annual meeting by the library s delegates . was appreciated. It. was decided to build up a contingency fund for library improvement generally. ' matter ol purchasinc a table was left in the hands of Messrs A. Cameron and A. Howell - j . was arranged that the women's working bee meet at an early date.
