An Essen message states" that Dn Bruening (ChanceUor),;in his first campaign speech, said he had always bean lenient to the Nazis, but leniency must not be mistaken for weakness. He urged the re-election of President BSndenburg for foreign as well as domestic reasons. CANDIDATE IN GAOL. V .• RELEASE FOR CAMPAIGNING REFUSED. BERLIN, March 7. The Saxon Government has refused to release Eerr Adolf Winter from gaol in order that he may conduct his own campaign as an Independent candidate for the German Presidency. - Herr "Winter is at present imprisoned for swindling.
