PROFESSOR COPLAND.

A SERIOUS ILLNESS. (PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) WELLINGTON, March 8. Professor Copland is at present seriously ill in the Bowen Street Private Hospital, Wellington. Professor Copland has been in New Zealand some little time, and last month was appointed a member of the special co'mmittee to examine the economic and budgetary position of the Dominion and report to the Government thereon. He was due to return to Australia by the Makura this afternoon, but was taken ill suddenly on Monday night. , Although Professor Copland's condition was still serious late this evening it was reported that he was a little' | better than when first admitted.
