AN APPEAL TO WOMEN.
10 THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. gjr ) —1 imagine there are many women like myself who in this time of national distress are wishing to help to rombat poverty with the oldtime war ardour of a Red Cross Organisation. From 1814 to 1918 how every woman worked and knitted I Would not some of the old workers and new recruits once more knit socks and singlets or mend and make whatever they can and forward their work to a central depot, so that our 70,000 unemployed may feel that their wqmen are caring for them as they did for the men in the war. I see that the Women's Committee ot the All Nations Fair has appointed representatives in every part of. this City to collect and receive gifts for the fair. Could not these same ladies, once the fair is over, continue to act in the same capacity and collect socks sind singlets and other garments, and the organisation be extended to the co'intrv districts. —Yours, etc., MABEL S. GRJGG. 34 Armagh strfcet,'March'Bth, 1932. '
