THE PRICE OF WHEAT.

ro THE EDITOB OF THE PRESS Sir, —I notice in Tuesday's Pkess that Mr Mulholland says the price for wheat, which has been fixed, works out at 4s 4d per bushel to the grower. In to-day s issue, Mr J. Connolly, M.P., is made to say in the House that the farmer is getting 4s 4d per bushel on trucks at country st:xt.cns. Now 1 80 wheat, and delivered it at the store, and after the charges are deducted from the 4s fciid I have got 4s 2d net. I think it is just as well to let the public know what the f ar " mer really is getting.—Yours, etc., , ~ J.W.D. Ashburton. March sth, 1932.
