FUNERAL.
THE REV. T. JT. SMYTH. The funeral of the Rev. Thomas Jasper Smyth took place en'"Sunday. The cortege left the residence bf Miss H. M. Smyth, the Esplanade, New Brighton, in the afternoon for the Papanui cemetery. The service ,in St. BaaPs Church, Papanui, was conducted by Canon -T. A. Hamilton; The servicd at the graveside was conducted bj". Bishop West-Watson. - . The pall-bearers were Ven. Archdeacon F. N. Tailor, Canon Williams, the Rev. F. B. Redgrave, the Rev. T. N. Curaow, the Hev. A. H. Norm, and the Rev. A. H. Acheson. The chief mournßi» were the.Rev. H. M. Smyth, and the Misses H. M. and D. Smyth. Among those at the church were tho Hon. Sir Heaton.Rhodes, Mr G. H. Judd (representing Progress League), Mr C. H. Otfey. 'Mr J. S. Priest, Messrs L. R. Hurrell and , E. Bargrove . (churchwardens of St.-. Faith's, New Brighton), Dr. I>. E.Han sen, Messrs H. Brown, W. R. Nunan, - Chas. Evans, Wm. Bailey, E. Baile.v, T. Robins, A. Webb, J. P. H. Pine, S. Underhay, R. Webb, L. F. Ward, L. A. McKonzie, W. M- Wiikerson, Gj E. Rowland, R. J. . Rainey, and S. C. Stamford and Mesdames R, Bargrove, and T. Robins. Miss Hansen represented the'N.Z. Girls' Bible Class . Union. J
