♦ - Mr G. S. McKenzie presided over the monthly meeting of the Sumner District High School Committee, when there were present Mesdames E. Py® and T. Cook, Messrs. H. Crawshaw, H. O. Ford, J. Browne, W. Odell, and the headmaster. The chairman reported on making enquiries for supplies of clay to topdress the playground, and hoped to reach some finality this week. A quantity was available at the tennis courts. ~ Correspondence was received from tne Department of Health (Division or Dental Hygiene) stating that a number of additional trained dental .nurses would be available .for allocation at the beginning of April, and _ that arrangements would be made to nil the Sumner vacancy as soon as possible after that'date.-' • - ... The Education Board wrote stating that. it regretted being unable to assist in overhauling the.typewriters. The " headmaster reported that the roll number at the primary school was 302, with an average attendance of 982; secondary roll 46; average attendance 45. It. was decided to present miniature cups- toi winners-, of' challenge, cups, a? from 1931. • The headmaster ? supplied 'details ci : 'challenge cups as requested at the last meeting.
