SATURDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. Firm but dull conditions prevailed on call on Saturday. Bidding was spiritless and the recorded turnover was small. Transactions exclusive of vestibule business were: * £SOO N.Z. Govt. 51 per cent. Bonds, 1937. 200 D.I.C. (10s paid). 300 D.I.C. (prei.). 100 Woolworths (N.Z.)', pief. cum rights. 500 Mahakipawa Goldfields. Sellers of New Zealand Government 4i per cents, due 1938 and 1939, reduced their limits to £93 and £92 lfs 6d, best buyers at £9O 10s; 5-J per cent. Bonds, due 1937, changed hands at £9B, market closing £97 1/s bci buyers, £9B 5s sellers; sellers or the i 5j per cent. 1937 Stock came down to £97' (an easing of 10s on Friday sclosiii£, business figure), buyers at £9o os. Bank of New Zealand shares appeared weaker with buyers at 425, sellers at 42.s 6d. Miscellaneous. Buyers oi Goldsbrough, Morts moved wp a point to 21s 7d, sellers at 21s Bd. The market for shipping company shares was bare. Westport Coal Co. shares were offered at 20s Bd, buyers at 19s lOd. D.I.C. ordinary 10s paid shares had business at 12s —the ence realised 20s 3d, market closing 20, buyers, 20s 6d sellers. Buyers of IKmlop Rubbers raised their bids to 10s 7d, sellers at 10s 9d. Electrolytic Z'inc preference shares, cum dividend, were stronger on buyers' offers 20s 9d, sellers at 21s 9d. Buyers of New Zealand Farmers' Co-op. 6$ per cent. 1940 Stock advanced their offers to £42, sellers at £47 15s. Woolworths (N.Z.) preference cum rights had business at 255, closing quotations 24s buyers, no sellers. Sellers of Wilson's Cement shares came down to 295, buyers at 23s 1 3d. King Solomon Gold Mining shares were wanted at Is 6d, sellers at Is Bd. Mahakipawas remained unaltered with buyers and business at 2sd, sellers at 3d'.
