POLITICAL AGITATOR RELEASED (VHITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—EY ELICTIVIC TELEOBAPH— COPVBIGHT.) DELHI, March 4. Mr V. J. Patel, the veteran exSpoaker of the Legislative. Assembly and ex-President of Congress, has been released from prison, but under pledge to abstain from any participation in tho disobedience movement. A steady improvement in the sale or British piece goods is reported from all tho big centres of India except Bombay, which is still suffering the aftereffects of Congress rule. Enquiries from up country are increasing, Calcutta and Madras being busier than for many months past.. The demand for Manchester goods is welcomed as a sign of the waning influence of the boycotters, end the return of confidence consequent upon official action against picketing.
