_ Dr. J. Hight, Sector of Canterbury University College, was a passenger from tlae North Island bv this morning's ferry. Archbishop Julius has returned to Christchurch after an extensive motor tour of the West Coast and Queen Charlotte Sound districts. Mr W. C. Tish, managing director of the Bell Hill Gold Sluicing. Company, has left for a short trip to the West Coast. Messrs T. D. Burnett, M.P., and E. J. Howard, M.P., arrived from Wellington yesterday morning. Dr. H. G. Denham, Professor of Chemistry at Canterbury College, and a member of the Economy Commission, arrived from the north yesterday. The Bt. Bev. F. A. Bennett, Bishop of Aotea-Eoa, was a passenger from the north by yesterday's ferry. The Hon. E. Scott, M.L.C., arrived from Wellington yesterday. Mr G. D, White Parsons, A.M.1.C.E.. of Lyttelton, is now on the technical staff of the London Electric Bailways, and is engaged on work in connexion with the extensions to the Piccadilly Tube Bailway.
Mr E. K. Murphy, of Napier, is stay ing at Warner's Hotel.
Mr B. Perkins (Wellington) is a visitor at the United Servic'e Hotel.
Captain G. M. Buxton, who was in the employ of the Union' Steam Ship Company for 34 years, and who retired last September, has arrived from Sydney on a holiday visit.
Mr Justice Adams left Christchurch last evening for Wellington, to attend a sitting of the Full Court. He will probably return next Thursday. Mr W. A. Marshall, stationmaster at Timaru, who has been appointed commercial agent for the Railway Department, was a passenger for the south by yesterday afternoon's express, to assume the duties of the new nosi-' tion. .
Squadron-Leader T. M. Wilkes, Director of Air Services, arrived from the north by yesterday's ferry steamer. Yesterday he inspected the pilots attending the refresher course at Wigram Aerodrome.

Nelson, arrived at Wellington on Tuesday by the MaTama from Sydney. Formerly of Christchurch, Mr Haultaia has been stationed in Australia almost constantly i since 1912. He spent four year iii East Africa engaged in missionary work, and later was -with the East African expeditionary force in German East Africa. He succeeds Archdeacon J. E. Dart, who has retired from parochial work as vicar of/All, Saints' Church, 'Nelson.
