EARTHQUAKE RELIEF.
"THE PRESS" FUND. The ■ manager of the Christchnrch Press Company, Ltd., has received the following letter from the Rt. Hon, G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister, under dato May 7th: —"I desire to acknowledge receipt of yqur letter of the 6th instant enclosing cheque for a further sum of £594 Is 9d, which has been subscribed by the readers pf Tg® Press for the Napier Earthquake lielief Fund. . "I wish to thank you on behalf of the subscribers for the generosity which they have displayed in connexion with the relief of tjie sufferers, who will, 1 feel sure,' greatly appreciate the practical sympathy shown to them »n their present unfortunate circumstances."
