Now 146 'more havej promised to keep it. , The proportion of grocers in Manchester selling it Jenow 80 per cent. SHOP OPENED IN BIRMINGHAM. ' ' - • '■> ' GLASGOW'S GREAT RESPONSE. A new Empire shop opened in Birnunghara on January 26th for the display of Empire goods and the sate of email samples to the public. The Empire Marketing Board has taken premises ic the mayi street of the city for si* months, and e<ach : Dominion iti turn will take over the shop < for a dieplay of its produce. Mr William Lung, M.P. (Under-Sescretary -of State for Affaire-and vice-chairman of the Empire Marketing-Board) spoke at the opening.' The % decision to organf. ise a - second shop- was taken following the encouraging results *of the Glasgow enterprise,- where the first experiment in this new and ■ practical , publicity drivd was ' conducted. ? More enquiries for Empire, goods - are - being received by -Glasgow grocers than was the case before the ! shop was organised. '. !,.■ ■ Three Good Answers. Three questions were recently put to the Glasgow Grocers'.' and Provision Merchants'• Association- by-the Board j namely: Do more customers ask for Empire goods P Are members of the Association stocking; more Empire lines? And are Empire goods easier to sellP _ The grocers replied that a definitely f,reater interest' was taken' by -the pubto in Empire goods, With one exception, all the members said that they were either-stocking, new lines, or a larger .quantity ■Of the Empire goods' already sfcx&ed.t And- it was unanimously agreed that .it was ; oasier to sell Empire goods.
