THE DUCKHAM MILLIONS.

ENQUIRIES MADE AT NEW BRIGHTON. (DXITJSD PBEB9 iSSOGXATIOH —Bt ELXOSBIO tEUSOBAPH—COITIUOHT.) v , LONDON, March 10. Several New Zealand descendants of Thomaii Duckham (who died in Ken* tucky in 1851) have cabled to the attorney, Mr Alfred Williams, verifying their relationship/ • Mr Williams has communicated with tho Bcsleys, of New Brighton, Christchurph, enquiring if they are descendants of Mr Duckham's . first wife; ' It, is stated that there are already 80 , claimants, though I Mr ; Duckham's sister, Sally rLangwortby, died in Kentucky in 1851. NEW BRIGHTON RESIDENT'S CLAIM. Mr L. W. Besley, a baker, of 163 / Seaview road. New Brighton, is a m4mber of the Besley family, mentioned in the cabled message from London about the heirs Vo the Duckham millions. Mr Besley does not think that there lis any likelihood of his inheriting any part of <the fortune, even though the lawyer ,in charge of the case has aßked him for information as to his relationship with ;the famous Duckham. A printed .history of the family going back to the 16th century is at present mislaid. If it. is. found it may prove the necessary relationships. There are many relations of Mr Besley who would have a claim to a portion of the money. 1 J.'* :Cr '■ ■■■■ -
