Dr. Dalton, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, said that the main Committee had met eleven times j two sub-com-mittees had held meetings but had not yet reported, while four other sub-com- | mittees had not yet met. Clynes, on sweepstakes and raifics is based on an I Act of 1823, and means that the sale i of Irish sweepstake tickets in England I is illegal. I Tho Attorney-General pointed out I that between 1782 and 1828 the annual lottery in England was regulated by an nnnual Act of Parliament.
