On Tuesday evening the Gaiety Hall was filled to overflowing,! when the Pirate Dance Club held a benefit dance for Mr George Brown, a member of ; the Papanui Amateur Sports Club, who was seriously injured at English Park, while training for the Canterburr Cycling Championships. Gillespie reported on the annual meeting of the United. Friendly Societies' Dispensary, and the Chief Banger gave an account of the successful social evening held on the previous Monday. One candidate for initiation was proposed.
