WEDDINGS.

DEANS—WILLIAMS. Relatives, and friends from all parts of the Dominion attended an interesting wedding, which was celebrated this week; at St. Matthew's Church, Master;ton. The bride was Barbara, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Guy Williams, of "Te Parae," Masterton, and the bridegroom was Colin, son* of Mrs and the late Mr John Deans, of Eiecarton House, Christchurch, and grandson of the late Mr John Deans, who, with his brother, : Mr William, Deans, arriveid in Canterbury in 1843, since "when the name of Deans has been closely associated with the history and development of Canterbury. The bride, tod, is a member of a well-known North Island family, and her mother is probably the best-known and most popular lady-golfer in New Zealand, and has several times won the Dominion golf championship. - The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful frock of parch-ment-tinted georgette, with long flared skirt widening at the back to form a train, which was weighted with trueloVers' knots of orange blossom. Her veil of parchment tinted tulle fell from a circlet of oranges, blossom buds and seed pearls, and her bouquet'of red ,roses formed an effective note of colour. ' The bridesmaids were Miss Nancy Williams, sister of the bride, Miss Margot Bussell (Hawke's Bay), and Miss Marjorie yaile (Auckland). They wore Empire frocks of delphinium blue chiffon, with, long full skirts, and headdresses of blue forget-me-nots, mounted on velvet. They carried bouquets of blue and mauve flowers, Two tiny girls —Annette Beetham and Sylvia Birchwearing frocks the exact replica of those of the bridesmaids and wreaths of for-get-me-notf in their hair,' completed an attractive quintette of attendants. Mr Godfrey Westenra, of North Canterbury, was best man, and the ushers were Messrs Bathe Brandon, William Johnston, Pat Borthwick, and Alister Williams. The wedding reception was held at "Te Parae," the home of the bride's parents. Mrs Williams wore a handsome frock of cigar-brown lace and hat to match and carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. Mrs Deans; the bridegroom's mother, wore a beautiful frock pf raven's wing • blue ■ marocain, with dainty vestee of cameo pink georgette, a black ninon coat, and blue hat to match her frock, trimmed with an ostrich plume. Mrs William Deans wore a black floral ninon frock patterned in red and a wide black hat; Miss Joan Williams wore a rose-pink floral chiffon frock and mushroom pink straw hat; Mrs Oran Beetham, mother of one of the tiny attendants, wore a green patterned niiton frock, and beige hat; Mrs Charles Macfarlane (North Canterbury) wore' a hydrangea blue lace frock, and coat and hat to match; Mrs George Aitken (Christchurch) wore a beechbrown crepe de chine frock patterned in lime-green, beige, and orange in, leif design, and a, wide beech-brown straw hat.
