Keenly disappointed when the negotiations for a yacht, race' stirpes the Tasman Sea broke down» crew of the Melbourne - yacht CHmara, which, recently made a 'passage ftora - Australia to Wellington" and'is'now at,_ Auckland, are still hopeful, of finding, a competitor to a contest., They have been greatly eencouraged by the interest in Auckland,for yachts-i men here have been keenly discussing the possibility of such' a race following a proposal made through the ''Herald" - by "Mainbjoom," who offered to- deposit securities of sufficient * value to cover the tdtal loss or, damage if' any Auckland owner would provide a-boat* for the purpose -of challenging the Oimara. The skippor. and 'owner, of the Oimara, Captain, F, J. Bennell, .said his crew very much appreciated '"Main- 1 bcom's" A efforts to .find a t competitor to. race tuent across the Tasman Sea.
