The weather was fine and there was a eutiufactory attendance for the second day of the V.R.C. Meeting at Flemington. Home Made wag last early, but outstayed the opposition in the Autumn Hurdles; and won nicely. Blast, Romeo, and Gertitude fell. Semitist waß third early and won the Gibson Carmichael Stakes easily. She alsc. won at Flemington on New Sear's Day. ■ Myarin was ■ last at the half-mile, but won the first division of the Bourke Handicap brilliantly. Cevantes led all the way in the River Handicap, an excellent Cup trial. He was trained by the part-owner, T, O'Dea. Waterline made a brilliant effort in the second division of the Bourke Handicap. He cost his owner 8000 guineas in New Zealand'last season, - and has won four races here. Trainer Skirving won the Bourke Handicap with Imputation in 1928. y Nauru tried to lead throughout ,m the Autumn Steeplechase, but tirea, and Good Whisky finished well, His trainer, ■ Quintan, hag Mystic Peak. Phar Lap had no trouble in recording h|s fourteenth successive victory in the King's Plate. He .also won the event last year, and his stakes now total £51,462.
