EARTHQUAKE FUND. The Te Whaka Tennis Club have arranged to hold a flannel dance this week in aid of the Earthquake Belief Fund. Librarian Appointed. The General Purposes Committee of the Lyttelton Council have appointed Miss Rose Burn's to the position of acting-librarian at the Public Library. There were twenty-two applicants. Juvenile Lodge Swimming. The Loyal City of Norwich Juvenilo Lodge will hold a Swimming Carnival in the graving dock on March 14th, the events being open to juvenile and female members of the Lyttelon, Kaiapoi, Papanui, Volunteer, and Loyal Sister Pearce Oddfellows' Lodges. Entries from the Lyttelton Lodge close on Tuesday next, and from the outside lodges on March 13th. The Carnival will be followed by a dance in the Oddfellows' Hall. Harbour Light Theatre^ "The Benson Murder Case," a thrilling mystery drama by the author of "The Canary" and "The Greene" murdfer cases, will be screened at the Harbour Light Theatre to-night, to-morrow, and Friday. William Powell again plays the role of Philo Vance and is supported by Eugene Pallette as Sergeant Heath, while Miss May Beatty, English character actress, has an import-, ant, part. s - On Saturday, "The Light of Western Stars," an all-talking production from the novel by Zane Grey and featuring Richard Arlen and Mary . Brian will be screened. .■
