BOWLING.
MID-WEEK TOURNAMENT. FINAL STAGES COMMENCED. The final stages of the mid-week bowling 'competition, which has been conducted throughout the season by the Canterbury -clubs, were entered upon yesterday, when an all-day tournament was commenced on the Harrington and Edgeware greens. Representing clubs affiliated to the Centre, 82 rinks took/ part. The greens were in excellent ■olaying condition, but the wind caused variations in play during the earlier part of the (United) and Wilson (Linwood) Dlayed oft five heads, Wilson securing six, noints and Watson four. Wilson then played Hayman - (Edgeware) • seven heads, Hayman winning by nine points to one. Hayman will met English (Canterbury), who won on Barrington green, in the final, on a date yet to be arranged.
