Mr and Mrs George Aitk.en ("Thornton,". Fendalton) left last night for a visit to Masterton. Miss Aitken will stay at "Thornton" during their absence. Miss Montgomery Mfcore (Wangariui) is at present the guest of Mrs John? Montgomery. "Holmbrook," Fendalton. • Mr and Mrs Kresse and Miss Mildred Kresse ("Woodhaugh," MurrayAynsley HiH), who have been spending several months in Christchurch, are leaving about April 6th for Chicago. They expect to return to New Zealand early next year. Mr and Mrs W. Holt, formerly of Hong-Kong, have left China, via Japan and America, for England, where they will in future reside.' Mrs Holt, who was Miss Alison Jennings, daughter of Mrs and tho late Dr. .Jennings, has very many friends in Canterbury. Mrs J. F. Green (Beverley street) and Mrs Cyril Stringer (Cashmere Hills) are leaving Christchurch on Thursday for Wellington', where they will join the Maunganui for Sydney, and will continue their journey to England in the Oronsay. Mr and Mrs P. Dearden('!Tho Gates," Waiau), Commander Eric Ijthodes, and Mr Godfrey Westenra are amongst Canterbury visitors, to Masterton for the Deans-Williams wedding this week, - . , Mrs Ure-Sroith and, her two children, who have been visiting Mrs J • Macfarlane, Weka • street, are leaving on Thursday for Wellington to join the Maunganui on their return journey to their home in Sydney. Miss Ella Macgibbon (Durham street North), who has beeuti raiting Mrs Nairn. Macgibbon, and Miss Enid Lawson, Wellington, is returning to Christchurch at the end of this week. Miss Barbara Crawford (England) is the guest of Mrs lan Buchanan, "Meadowbank," Ellesmere.
