Mixing 1 *tuats witfi rioh comedy, [/William Haines is said' to score a gnat suooess in his' latest talkie, "Way Out West," which -vrill begin to-day .at the Majestic. .It is his first appearance among .the cowpuncberi, but: so "gbod /is he that it is a wonder he has not turned to wearing spun and a - sombrero before ibis. * The ' story is a' whimsical tale of the modem back-country of America, with the irrepressible Haines appearing as a circus "apruiker" who, after taking a bunch of cowboys down for their wages, is made by them to turn cowboy < so that they may claim his wages to pay off the debt. His initiation into the work of a rancher, his struggles learning to rido none-too-gentle horses; and his cattle adventures furnish excellent comedy. Brilliant horsemanship and a' pretty story add other attractions to this picture. Leila Hfams appears as the heroine, enacting the feminine "ranch boss"; _ Cliff Edwsrds, as a comedy cowboy with a uknlelQ, and Polly Moran, as a ranch cook, keep the audience laughing when Haines is otherwise engaged, Francis X. Bushman, jun;, is seen as the eowfeoy rivalior the hand of the heroine, and Charles B. Middleton appears as Buck, her brother and ranolf foreman.' Buddy Roosevelt, well known as a Western star, with Jack Kennick and Jay Wilsey, furnished , a series of riding, thfills: Haines's battle with the cowboys" in. th'e • doserted pueblo, the attempted lynching 'party, the, thrilling resoue rioe with Hiss Hyams, and other bits of excitfement keep the story moving at lightning speed throughqut.
