"THE PRESS" FUND/
It was to bo expected that what was said in yesterday's PflEsa about the use made of the central fund in "Wellington would have some effect on our own subscribers and supporters; and it has happened. - But none of the money raised in Canterbury has-been spent improperly, :and a little carelessness in | ljeneyolenca is not a good reason for calling benevolence off. The vast majority of those helped in Hawke's Bay most urgently required help; and the need continues. ■ We acknowledge already:—
